Sobey Art Awards 2016

The Sobey Art Awards- named after businessman and art collector Frank H. Sobey is a annual art competition for artists 40 and under. It awards around a total of $100,000 each year with a $50,000 to the winner and $10,000 to each finalist.

Jeremy Shaw, the winner of 2016 Sobey Art Award, is a musical and multi media artist, born in Vancouver B.C. Jeremy has some phenomenal art work.

The other finalists that were rewarded $10,000 include; Charles Stankievech from Ontario, Hajre Waheed from Quebec, William Robbinson from Atlantic Canada, and Brenda Draney from Alberta.

The sponsors for the event is CBC and National Art Gallery Of Canada.
